Lusitana Font Download

– Feminist Fonts

Lusitana is a free typeface designed by Ana Paula Megda. I fell in love with it right away since it embodies the feeling of reading an old book.

“inspired by the first edition of The Lusiads, by Luis Vaz de Camões, a legendary Portuguese writer.”

The typeface includes eight weights, including italics, although I was sad to see only Regular and Bold on Google Fonts. It is a great typeface for articles due to the easy readability, and it was even used on a previous version of Bill Gates’ personal blog.

As part of my efforts to highlight women type designers, I reached out to Ana Paula Megda to get access to the 6 missing weights that were not available on Google Fonts. She gave me permission to link to the full family as part of the Feminist Fonts zine.

So, without further ado, here is the link where you can download all 8 styles of the Lusitana family! Remember to credit the designer if you use these in your projects. Lusitana is licensed under the Open Font License.

Thank you, Ana Paula Megda, for making such a beautiful typeface available to the public! 💚
